For the second challenge of the GDGC x AIC Tech Tournament, you will need to create a conversational chatbot using Google’s Gemini API! This challenge is all about innovation, technical skills, and building a purposeful chatbot.

Requirements:

  1. API Access

    1. Teams must gain access to a Gemini API key.

    2. Familiarize with using the Gemini API for requests and responses securely

  2. Scope

    1. Define the purpose and target audience for your chatbot

    2. Provide a list of situations the chatbot should handle

  3. Functionality

    1. The chatbot must engage in context-aware conversations

Nice to have:

  1. Error handling

    1. How does the chatbot handle unrecognized queries

  2. Extended features

    1. Integrate more features such as multilingual support, sentiment analysis, or integrate with external API’s

  3. Unique Persona

    1. Have the chatbot carry a personality specific to itself

  4. Hosting

    1. Host your chatbot online for public access

Requirements

  • Final Submissions (Due 2/5 @ 5pm EST):

    • A link to your Github repository
    • All DevPost submission prompts answered to your best effort
    • Demo*
      • video of your chatbot answering three (3) prompts fully!!!!!
      • if you demo on 2/5/25 in person at UC 1225 from 6-7:30pm, you get an extra 50 points
