Hi, I’m Elder Susan Kee, curator of life-changing conversations and the visionary founder of the Real Women Real Talk Roundtable, Women Talking to Girls, Real Men Talk Too, and ChocCo Conversations. During roundtable discussions, podcasts, and workshops, individuals share their expertise and what they have learned and discovered through conversation. 

In May 2011, after a late-night encounter with God, I was moved to start the Real Women with Real Weight Website. The website offered a resource page, an art expressions cafe’ page, a listing of local churches, a daily blog, and daily weight busters. The intent was to encourage women to lose the weight (issues) that kept them from being free and whole. While the website was promising, and the number of women visiting the site took off quickly, more was needed. Women were constantly emailing and asking what was next. When is an event to learn more and to have a one-on-one conversation versus the blogs?

After the first year, it was apparent that online conversation was good, but the women needed interaction. In May 2012, we launched the BlogTalk radio show “Me, God and A Cup of Coffee.” To this day, the show airs every Saturday at 8 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, and the listening audience continues to grow. Yet, we still received emails and comments from women listening to the show and asking for more. Desiring to have a greater I.M.P.A.C.T. and listening to you, in October 2012, we launched our first Annual Real Women-Real Talk Roundtable. My love for women and women’s issues has propelled me to go to a place I never thought I would. Today, our focus is connect2thrive. I AM YOU, YOU ARE ME, AND TOGETHER, WE ARE REAL WOMEN. WE ARE MORE ALIKE THAN WE ARE DIFFERENT. 

So, now you know the why behind the Roundtable discussions and Conversations over Coffee. They exist to shine a light on how conversation can transform your life. Professional bio: Susan is a 2023 recipient of the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Volunteer Service. Susan has been an ordained Elder for over 20 years. She was previously the Connection Pastor at Strong Tower Christian Church in Frederick, MD, where the Senior Pastors were Darren and Angela Gerald. Since she was ordained Elder in 1999 by Apostle Cornelius Showell of the Bibleway Churches, the late Bishop Alfred M. Kee (her father), Overseer and Founder of the Fellowship Church of Christ, and Author of The Fitting of The Joints, and Bishop Charles J. Carrington of the Full Gospel Ministries, Susan has been committed to sharing her love for Christ. She attended National Business College in Roanoke, VA, where she studied business management/accounting and has several certifications. Susan has traveled extensively, training mortgage professionals in mortgage finance since 1986. When she is not underwriting mortgages, her favorite pastime is designing floral arrangements through her business, Amore’ Flowerscaping, teaching Financial Literacy and budget-building classes, volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and educating first-time home buyers.
