By participating in the ORIGIN Hackathon, all participants agree to comply with the following rules and conditions. Failure to do so may result in disqualification at the sole discretion of the organizers.

  1. Participation is open to individuals and teams of any background or skill level.

  2. All submitted projects must be created during the official hackathon period. Pre-existing code, assets, or ideas may only be used if they are clearly disclosed and publicly available.

  3. Participants retain full ownership of their projects. By submitting, participants grant the organizers a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to showcase the project for promotional and educational purposes.

  4. All submissions must comply with applicable laws and regulations. Projects must not contain illegal, offensive, or harmful content.

  5. Use of third-party libraries, APIs, datasets, and tools is allowed, provided proper credit is given.

  6. Teams are responsible for ensuring their submissions do not infringe on intellectual property rights of others.

  7. The organizers reserve the right to modify rules, timelines, or judging procedures if necessary, with prior notice.

  8. Decisions made by the judging panel are final and binding.

  9. Any attempt to misrepresent work, plagiarize, or manipulate the judging process will result in immediate disqualification.

All submissions must be completed and submitted on Devpost before the official deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Participation
  • Participation Certificate awarded to all eligible participants who submit a valid project.

The judging panel reserves the right not to award a category if no submission meets the required standard.

Judging Criteria & Winner Selection

All submissions will be evaluated by the judging panel based on the following criteria:

  1. Idea & Originality
    Clarity, creativity, and uniqueness of the concept.

  2. Purpose & Impact
    How meaningful the project is and the potential positive impact it demonstrates.

  3. Execution & Functionality
    Quality of implementation, technical soundness, and completeness relative to scope.

  4. Design & Experience
    Usability, clarity, aesthetics, and overall user or viewer experience.

  5. Vision & Future Potential
    The project’s ability to scale, evolve, or inspire further development.

 

Judges will review all eligible submissions independently. Final rankings and award decisions are determined by aggregated scores and qualitative discussion. In the event of a tie, judges may jointly decide the final outcome.
