Program Information

The Ontario REALTOR® Wellness Program (ORWP) is a benefit available to all Ontario REALTORS®.

How To Register – NEW MEMBERS

As of January 1, 2024, all OREA Members who are up to date on their Dues payments are automatically enrolled in the ORWP’s Standard Plan.

ORWP Program Administrator, Comprehensive Benefit Solutions (CBS) send each new Member a Welcome Email upon payment of OREA Dues and the Member Boards submitting information.

New Members who join OREA will have 31 days from the date their CBS Welcome Email is sent to enhance coverage beyond the Standard Plan.

How To Register

Step 1: Once you pay your OREA Dues and your Member Board sends in your information, you will receive a Welcome Email from CBS explaining how to create an account with them.

Step 2: Follow the instructions to create your account for the CBS Member Portal.

  • You’ll be asked to create an account using your email address and a secure password. To validate your identity, you will also need to enter your ORWP Certificate Number, Client Number, and Date of Birth, which are all supplied in your Welcome Email.
  • Click the REGISTER NOW button to receive a link to validate your registration.
  • Log in to the CBS Member Portal with your newly created account.

Step 3: Complete your enrollment in the ORWP through the CBS Member Portal.

  • Once logged in, navigate through the enrollment tool carefully, validate your personal information, and complete your beneficiary designation. If you choose, add your eligible dependent(s) and/or upgrade your coverage elections.
  • Once you have completed your registration on the CBS Member Portal, CBS will forward your information to the ORWP insurance providers. You will receive a separate email from the healthcare insurance provider, GreenShield, with instructions in approximately 3 business days on how to register for their secure member site where you can submit your eligible healthcare claims.

Step 4: Register for your GreenShield+ account for healthcare claims.

  • Follow the instructions in the registration email from GreenShield to register and login to GreenShield+. For further assistance, you can contact GreenShield at 1-888-525-7587.

Step 5: Create an account for Maple and AIG valuable Member services.

  • At this time, you may also create an account for the Maple virtual healthcare services to access support when you need it, and gain access to AIG’s travel assistance website and download their travel assistance app. Detailed instructions to access both services can be found on the CBS Member Portal.

Automatic Coverage Upgrades

Effective July 1, 2025, the ORWP has new and expanded coverage components.

Please note, there is no increase to the current cost, and Member action is not required to receive the updated coverage.

Summary of changes:

Expanded Paramedical Coverage

  • The annual combined maximum under the Standard and Enhanced Plans is now $800 (up from $750).
  • Plus, there is an expanded list of eligible providers. The full list is in your ORWP Plan Member Booklet on orwp.ca.

Better Hearing Aid Coverage

  • Hearing aids are now covered separately, with a $1,000 maximum every 60 months.
  • Previously, this benefit was under the Medical Services and Supplies category, which has an annual combined maximum of $500 under the Standard Plan.

New Hospital Benefit

  • The ORWP now includes coverage for semi-private hospital rooms, with a $250 annual maximum.

Mental Health Coverage for Eligible Dependent Children

  • Eligible dependent children currently insured under your plan now have access to a new mental health benefit with an annual combined maximum of $1,000 under each of the four plan options.
  • Please note, this is now a separate benefit from the insured child’s other paramedical coverage. Adult mental health services remain under the existing paramedical category.
  • To be eligible, your child(ren) must already be enrolled in your ORWP coverage (through the Program Administrator). The next opportunity to enroll eligible dependents will be during the upcoming Open Enrollment Period in late 2025.

Important to Know

  • These changes took effect on July 1, 2025, and claims incurred before this date are not eligible.
  • All eligible paramedical claims incurred since January 1, 2025, will count toward the new annual combined limits.
  • You will not receive a new balance mid-year. However, claims incurred before July 1, 2025, remain subject to the previous maximums and cannot be resubmitted.
  • Your plan’s existing reimbursement level and other eligibility criteria continue to apply.

Open Enrollment Period

Please note that the Open Enrollment Period closed on Friday, December 12.

The Open Enrollment Period is the insurer-approved period when Members are permitted to make eligible changes to their ORWP coverage with no medical questions asked.

During the Open Enrollment Period, you are permitted to move up or down one coverage level. You can also add or remove eligible dependents from your ORWP coverage.

Current ORWP Plan
If you did not take action to make changes to your coverage during the Open Enrollment Period, your current coverage will automatically be renewed for 2026, provided you pay your OREA Dues to your Member Board no later than December 31, 2025. As this was an automatic process, no action was required from you if you wanted to continue your existing coverage selections into the next coverage period.

Exceptions
Enhancements to coverage can only be made during the Open Enrollment Period. There are two exceptions:

  • New OREA Members: New Members who join OREA will have 31 days from the date their CBS Welcome Email is sent to enhance coverage beyond the Standard Plan.
  • Life Event: A Member may terminate or obtain coverage for an eligible dependent within 31 days of the insurer-approved life event (birth, death, marriage, divorce).

Accommodation Policy

The Request for Accommodation process is available for OREA Members who are at risk of losing existing benefits coverage which are better than offered by the ORWP.

We understand that, in some cases, OREA Members with existing coverage could lose benefits because of a clause in their current plan which provides they can only participate in one benefits plan.

Each request for accommodation is reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

The Member must be able to prove:

  • They are subject to an exclusivity requirement by legal agreement, contract, and/or policy to participate in only one insurance plan; and/or
  • Benefit coverage in effect immediately prior to their ORWP effective date, for which the OREA Member is insured which offers better benefits than the Ontario REALTOR® Wellness Plan (ORWP) will be terminated in the event the OREA Member becomes insured under the ORWP; and/or
  • Immediately prior to their ORWP effective date, previously approved financial assistance through a Government Plan, Government Agency, and/or pharmaceutical patient support program will terminate if they are insured under the ORWP.
