Frequently Asked Questions

General

What conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions including back and neck pain, sports injuries, joint problems, post-surgical rehabilitation, arthritis, and chronic pain.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No, a referral is not required to see a physiotherapist. However, if you are claiming through insurance or a third-party provider (AXA), a referral may be needed and the appointment must be made direct with the clinic rather than online.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first session includes a full assessment of your condition, discussion of your medical history, and a physical examination. We’ll then create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your goals.

What treatments do you offer?

Our physiotherapists use a combination of manual therapy, exercise prescription, dry needling, taping, and Pilates-based rehabilitation depending on your needs.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your condition and goals. Acute injuries may require just a few sessions, while chronic or post-surgical issues may need a longer rehabilitation program. Your physiotherapist will outline this during your first visit.

Pilates

What is Clinical Pilates and how is it different from regular Pilates?

Clinical Pilates is a form of exercise prescribed and supervised by physiotherapists. It focuses on controlled movement, core stability, and posture, often used as part of rehabilitation or injury prevention.

Do I need to be fit or flexible to start Pilates?

Not at all! Pilates is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Exercises are tailored to your ability and progressively adjusted as you improve.

Can I do Pilates if I have an injury?

Yes. Our physiotherapists ensure all exercises are safe and beneficial for your specific injury. Clinical Pilates is often part of physiotherapy recovery programs.

What should I wear and bring to my Pilates session?

Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows freedom of movement. Grip socks are recommended for safety. Bring a water bottle and a small towel.

How do I book a class or physiotherapy appointment?

You can book online or call our clinic. We recommend an initial physiotherapy assessment before starting Clinical Pilates to ensure exercises are suited to your needs.
