A joyful group of people laughing and smiling together

We are
Ile Kimoyo.

Hear how to pronounce our new name! (ee-lay kee-MO-yo)

A home to replenish community well-being.

In solidarity, we are creating waves of change.

We’ve changed our name from the BIPOC ED Coalition of Washington State to Ile Kimoyo. Ile means “home” in Yoruba, and Kimoyo means “of the spirit” in Bantu, signifying all the ways our organization continues to be a home for nonprofit leaders to nourish our spirits.

Like the rhythms of water, we are moving together through healing and capacity-building to replenish ourselves—as individuals and our organizations—to cultivate prosperous, abundant communities.

Nurturing Healing & Wellness

What would our lives look like if we centered rest? Prioritizing well-being is foundational to sustainable change-making. To those of us who find ourselves carrying an overwhelming workload at the intersections of our multiple identities, movements, and causes, we must remind ourselves: choosing rest is a bold act of love that disrupts and recreates all at once.

Learning & Connection

Through enriching programs and gatherings, we are redefining resilience by balancing our personal needs with the needs of our organizations and communities. In coming together, we validate each other in authentic ways.

Sabbaticals

Sabbaticals are intentional periods of rest, healing, and exploration that can be transformative for individuals, organizations, and communities. Our Sabbatical Leadership program is designed for nonprofit changemakers to take the time you need to recharge, rejuvenate, and reimagine.

Moving Together in Solidarity

We are mobilizing the power and genius of our communities. Together with our community partners we are engaging our regional philanthropic leaders to reimagine their roles and work with nonprofit leaders in more powerful ways.
