About the challenge

Hack the Generation is a global, student-focused virtual hackathon where creativity meets technology. Unlike traditional hackathons that limit participants to specific themes, here you decide what to build. From apps to AI, hardware hacks to creative coding experiments – the possibilities are endless.

This hackathon is special because it’s open to all students, everywhere – regardless of background or experience level. Whether you’re a beginner just starting your coding journey or a seasoned hacker, this is your chance to collaborate, innovate, and showcase your ideas to the world.

✨ What makes it special?

  • Freedom to Create → No fixed theme; participants can build anything they’re passionate about.

  • Global Community → Meet and collaborate with like-minded students worldwide.

  • Workshops & Mentorship → Learn from industry experts and experienced developers.

  • Recognition for All → Prizes for winners + certificates for every participant.

  • Virtual & Accessible → Join from anywhere – no travel required.

Requirements

🛠️ What to Build
  • You can build anything you can imagine – a website, mobile app, game, AI/ML model, hardware hack (if you have the setup), or even a creative digital tool.

  • Projects can be solo or team-based.

  • Your solution should be functional (a prototype or MVP is enough – it doesn’t have to be 100% perfect).

  • Creativity, innovation, and problem-solving matter more than complexity.

📤 What to Submit

Each team must submit:

  1. Project Title & Description – a short summary of your idea and what problem it solves.

  2. Demo Video (2–4 minutes) – a screen recording or presentation explaining your project.

  3. GitHub/Code Repository Link – where your project code lives (can be private until judging, but share access with organizers).

  4. Presentation Slides (optional) – if you want to make your pitch clearer.

  5. Team Details – names, roles, and short bios of team members.
