Hello which words are appropriate in this context?

The Central Bank of Germany has raised the interest rates by 25 percent.
The Central Bank of Germany has increased the interest rates by 25 percent.

The Central Bank of Germany has lowered the interest rates by 25 percent.
The Central Bank of Germany has reduced the interest rates by 25 percent.
The Central Bank of Germany has dropped the interest rates by 25 percent.
The Central Bank of Germany has decreased the interest rates by 25 percent.

  • They all seem fine except the last two: "dropped" and "decreased".

I think "raised" and "lowered" sound the most natural.

What exactly are 'the interest rates'?
Usually I read about 'the interest rate' or 'interest rates'. 'The interest rates' is only really acceptable if you have previously defined what they are, or include the definitions in the sentence: 'The interest rates for overnight lending and borrowing...'
