increase/decrease reaction times

why this sentence use increase instead of decrease IMO. <-----Question from original thread title added to post by moderator (Florentia52)----->

Strangely, the air pressure at altitudes of over 7,000ft (2.1km) has been found to actually increase reaction times – great news for those who like to play computer games during their flight.
 
    • Please tell us where you found this sentence, happmaoo. Why do you think "decrease" should have been used instead of "increase?"

    Strangely, the air pressure at altitudes of over 7,000ft (2.1km) has been found to actually increase reaction times – bad news for those who like to play computer games during their flight.
     
    Maybe they've changed it since you read it, but it now says 'Strangely, the air pressure at altitudes of over 7,000ft (2.1km) has been found to actually increase reaction times – bad news for those who like to play computer games during their flight.'

    OMG,the writer corrected the sentence! when I read it yesterday,It's "great news".
