Hi, i'm watching a tv series. In this scene, Emma's talking with Pacey outside the arena. Pacey punched a guy who slept with his girlfriend. Anh then she said:

Emma: Well, I did figure I might decrease the odds of another one in your group either having s*x or possibly beating each other to a pulp.

Pacey: You don't think I had the right to punch that guy?

I don't understand what Emma's trying to say here. Could anyone please help? Thank you.

Emma thinks that maybe she can do something to keep people from having sex or beating each other up. I suppose that she thinks she needs to do something to prevent any more disorder in Pacey's life.
