Is "descrease" is a noun here? and is "descreased" is a verb? Can you please explain the difference?

You now have your five locations and you have your five keywords, now we try to connect them. Look for similarities between them. "Door" and "rain forest," both are made of wood. Then "stairs" and the word "decrease,"

hen "stairs" and the word "decrease,"
As a word without context, "decrease" has no grammatical function at all - without context, it is impossible to say what it is. It could ne a noun... it could be a verb.

Likewise, the word "decreased" without context, has no grammatical function at all. It could be an adjective, a past participle, the simple past, a reduced relative clause, or a noun.

Hi there, here is more context with the word "decreased"

Let me give you an example. Let's say you have a great speech about the ecological dangers of the modern world, about the endangerment of the rain forest. And the first two sentences of your speech would be the following: "The rainforest has significantly decreased in size in the last years due to industrialization, for example because of the building of highways.

"The rainforest has significantly decreased in size ... It should be obvious what the grammatical function of "decreased" is in this sentence - what do you think it is?

However, decreased can be an adjective, a name, a past participle, the simple past, or a substantive depending on the context.

I must emphasised that a word, on its own and without any context, cannot be given a grammatical function.
