Inspiration

Ensuring donated clothing gets to those who need it :)

What it does

We partner with donation centres in your community to report their most needed clothing items. We provide all the necessary information to connect you to them.

How I built it

  • front-end: bootstrap, HTML, CSS, php
  • back-end: SQL, javascript, php, Google Maps API, Google Places API
  • collaborated with team over GitHub

Challenges I ran into

  • not knowing how to use SQL database
  • lack of information found on potential partner websites
  • hardships of following Google API documentation

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • created a working website in 36 hours!
  • learned and implemented a lot of new skills

What I learned

  • SQL, queries, Bootstrap, PHP, etc.

What's next for weshare

  • Gain partnerships in our city and beyond
  • Build an interface so our partners can easily update their own information
  • Expand our platform in the form of a mobile application
