Inspiration

Challenges Women Face Despite the increasing availability of psychological services, many women still struggle with mental health issues, leading to a widespread and lasting impact on their lives: Example 1: In 2017, Taiwanese writer Lin Yi-han tragically took her own life following childhood trauma, sparking a feminist movement across Asia. Example 2: Women continue to face systemic disadvantages in career development. While policies and cultural biases create visible barriers, there’s a deeper, ingrained belief system at work: from an early age, women are often subconsciously taught that they are less capable of excelling in certain fields or reaching high-status positions. In regions like Southeast Asia, this manifests in societal skepticism toward women pursuing STEM disciplines.

Although women’s movements and policy reforms are actively advancing, true change requires women to build a strong sense of self. Only by developing an empowered inner foundation can they make proactive choices and contribute to the broader goal of gender equality.

Inspiration from Scientific Research Numerous studies show that repetitive thoughts and behaviors can rewire neural pathways, a principle widely applied in psychotherapy and behavioral interventions. Research suggests combining affirmations with other techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or mindfulness practices, for improved outcomes. For instance, link

In daily life, many women receive repeated negative reinforcement, such as "you’re not good enough" or "you can't succeed." Even with regular therapy, it’s challenging to maintain positive effects between sessions. This raises the question: could we create a personalized “supportive friend” that continuously provides affirmations and positive reinforcement based on individual needs?

What it does

Product Features and Solutions 1.Dynamic Affirmations: The main screen displays different positive affirmations daily, which users can swipe up and down to explore. 2.Push Notifications: Affirmations are delivered via push notifications every 30 minutes between 8 AM and 8 PM, helping users establish a consistent, positive mental framework. 3.Chat Interface: A chat icon at the bottom leads users to a conversation page for interactive support. 4.Therapy Record Integration: In the personal center, users can set up and associate their psychological counseling records. Gemini analyzes these records and generates personalized affirmations for the user.

How we built it

This is an iOS app that integrates with the Gemini API, leveraging Gemini's text analysis and text generation capabilities.

Challenges we ran into

The patient's psychological counseling records involve the following issues: privacy and confidentiality, patient authorization and consent, data security and compliance, and ethics and trust.

Collaboration and proper authorization with relevant healthcare institutions are necessary to implement this fully. Therefore, this product has included only a conceptual feature design. Users can enter their therapist’s email, and after submission, a report request is sent to the therapist. The therapist can then securely upload the patient’s diagnostic report to a designated encrypted platform through a link in the email. This conceptual approach ensures mutual authorization by both the patient and therapist, with information securely encrypted and safeguarded against external exposure risks.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is an innovative product derived from the latest AI models, scientific research, and clinical therapy. It offers more effective solutions by addressing various challenges faced by women worldwide, aiming to empower and drive the progress of women globally through integrated solutions.

What we learned

The powerful capabilities of Google Gemini’s AI model and its efficient integration with various platforms and products.

What's next for Urrare

Optimize the generation logic and distribution of affirmation types in the library to achieve more accurate and effective therapeutic outcomes:

Types of Affirmation Libraries Type 1: General Affirmations - Basic, universal affirmations are generated using Gemini prompts and refresh with each swipe on the screen. Type 2: Emotion-Based Affirmations - Tailored affirmations based on user interactions in chat. For example: Question 1: "How are you feeling right now?" Question 2: "What might be causing this feeling?" Question 3: "Has this been troubling you for a while?" Based on responses, the app generates 10 affirmations aligned with the user’s current emotions. Type 3: Therapist-Generated Affirmations - Therapy records include discussions, emotional changes, methods used, goals set, progress, and major events. These records are valuable for tracking treatment outcomes and planning next steps. Affirmations based on these insights are delivered regularly to reinforce the ongoing impact of therapy in daily life.
