Inspiration
A common annoyance that occurs in everyday life is forgetting passwords when logging in to multiple accounts. There are so many requirements when making a good password; special characters, lower case, upper case and so much more. We sought to improve that experience by allowing users to use something they are much likely to remember, locations.
By drawing inspiration from GeoGuesser, we enabled users to securely register and sign in with their location to login to their account as well as using two factor authentication.
To keep with the map and exploration theme, we designed our website to allow users to know the UK regions better with the chance they might visit some day.
How it’s built
For our frontend, we used HTML/Tailwind CSS for the design of the website and HTMX/Javascript for server interaction.
For the backend, we used Python, Sqlite, Flask to handle client requests.
Challenges we ran into
Getting the design of website to interact properly was a challenge and deployment of the website.
What we learned
We have learnt and experimented with technologies.
What's Next?
If we were to improve and scale up the website, we would provide more data for the user to show which regions they have been to and improve the responsiveness of the website.
