Inspiration
The inspiration behind Trazza stems from a simple question: ‘Do we really know what coffee we are drinking?’ We realized that the story behind specialty coffee—the work of the producers, the uniqueness of the region, the artisanal process—is lost in an opaque supply chain. We wanted to bridge that gap. Trazza was born to give a voice to those invisible producers, transforming an anonymous product into a human and verifiable story, from the mountain to the cup.
What it does
Trazza is a web platform that empowers coffee producers, brands, and buyers. It provides a visual traceability solution that:
- For producers: Allows them to register their coffee batches, tell their story, and generate symbolic certificates and verifiable QR codes.
- For brands: Offers them access to traceability and authentic storytelling for their marketing. *For buyers: Gives them the security of scanning a QR code and verifying the origin, crop data (simulating IoT), and the producer's story.
In short, Trazza turns transparency into an emotional and tangible experience for everyone in the chain.
How we built it
We built Trazza as a 100% functional visual mockup. We used Bolt.new to quickly generate a consistent frontend with an editorial design inspired by specialty coffee brands. The key was the use of efficient prompts and an iterative process of design and improvement.
The project is deployed on Netlify and uses generated HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We simulated complex functionalities such as IoT (humidity and temperature sensors), AI (quality analysis), and blockchain (hash registration for batches) to demonstrate the solution's potential without the need for a full backend.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was designing the user experience (UX). We wanted the platform to be elegant, minimalist, and at the same time very easy to use for a coffee producer who might not be tech-savvy. We achieved this through a guided, visual batch registration flow and an editorial design that prioritizes content and storytelling. It was also a considerable challenge to generate and refine the design in Bolt.new to ensure visual consistency with our specific color palette and fonts, which required several iterative prompts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are especially proud to have created a visually flawless and functionally demonstrable prototype in just 36 hours. We managed to capture a complex vision—involving multiple users and advanced technologies—in an intuitive interface. The mock-up not only looks good, but also clearly communicates the value of each feature, from QR code generation to data dashboard simulation, convincingly demonstrating the viability of our idea.
What we learned
We learned the value of iterating quickly with AI tools. By using detailed and specific prompts, we were able to accelerate frontend development exponentially. We also deepened our understanding of narrative-driven product design, focusing not only on functionality, but also on the story and emotion that technology can convey. The experience taught us to prioritize clarity over complexity and to build a solution that feels genuine and purposeful.
What's next for Trazza
The next step for Trazza is to develop a robust backend that implements the simulated functionalities. This includes:
- Real integration with blockchain for an immutable record. *Connectivity with IoT devices.
- Implementation of a reputation engine and narrative AI.
In the long term, we plan to expand Trazza to include other crops such as cocoa and wine, and launch a direct marketplace connecting producers with end buyers. Trazza is poised to become a standard for transparency and trust in the industry.
