Inspiration
The current coronavirus models stop somewhere mid-fall, and models fail to take into account the second wave in the fall, which causes mass uncertainty within the population. We here at Panic-demic want to reduce this uncertainty, which, is much better in the long run.
What it does
Using the currently available data from the census bureau, John Hopkins University, and machine learning, to create a heat map of the united states to simulate the spread of COVID-19 over a period of time. Our vision is for users to be able to adjust certain parameters, but our current minimum-viable-product allows users to change the number of people social distancing and self-isolating. There's also a value which is based on the slider which informs the user of the number of omitted infections from social-distancing which encourages social distancing.
How I built it
- React Native for mobile app
- Python3 for machine learning
Challenges I ran into
- The machine learning was much more challenging than expected
- Extracting data from different sources
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
- The front end (all credit to Abstract)
- How much machine learning we got done, despite our struggles

What I learned
- Experience with machine learning
What's next for titanhacks
The next step for us would be to launch this into the play store.
