Inspiration

Our inspiration for TEAMDR stemmed from our own experiences in hackathons and past competitions. Three of the four group members met just a week before the competition and the fourth joined on the very day of the event. With limited time and no prior collaboration, we faced difficulties in finding the right team strategy. This then sparked the idea for the platform, thinking of a solution that would make it easier for students to form/join teams, collaborate and, in case of winning, ensure a fair distribution of any prize money through blockchain technology.

What it does

TEAMDR is a decentralized platform designed to help students find or create teams for competitions such as hackathons. The platform allows users to register by creating an account, form or join teams and collaborate effectively. Additionally, if such competition team wins a prize, TEAMDR uses blockchain-based smart contracts to automatically distribute the prize money among all team members. This ensures transparency and fairness and avoids any disputes or delays in the transaction

How we built it

We built TEAMDR with a focus on simplicity and transparency. We used a combination of frontend and backend technologies and used solidity to code our program. Regarding financial transparecy, we integrated smart contracts to handle the distribution of the prize money.

Challenges we ran into

Our biggest challenge was time pressure and not knowing each other before the competitions. This made it difficult to delegate tasks and understand each others strengths effectively. Additionally, there were a few struggles of managing different skill levels within the team, which required constant communication and adaptation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of the way we were ultimately able to form a cohesive team and develop a prototype under the time constraint that were put on us.

What we learned

This project taught us the importance of collaboration and adaptability in order to build a solution together, even when we were all coming from different backgrounds and skill levels. We also saw a real application of how blockchain can be used to solve problems, deepening our understanding on todays technology.

What's next for TEAMDR

Moving forward, we plan to refine the platform and expand the scope of competitions that can use TEAMDR. We also have plans to monetize the platform through premium features such as the creation of infinitely number of teams.
