Inspiration

It started in 2006, while e-commerce was booming. Luckily for us, Sovafrem S.a.r.l is not acting in a very young industrial sector. It was taking time for competitors time to get up-to-date and even get a decent presentation website. We launched a first version of the website, an soon after customers and the company were asking for more and more options and tools.

What it does

• list and search products
• sale process including inquiry, order, payment and delivery
• communication with customer base
• manage prices
• sale reports

How I built it

I started with pure PHP and switched to Laravel lately

Challenges I ran into

Maintaining and rewriting the platform to avoid technical debt while being sure there is no security or feature problem is probably the most difficult part.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Without the platform, the company would have most likely go bankrupt

What I learned

Laravel is a great framework to build complex web app with PHP
