Inspiration
During covid's rise in the recent years, many students who are attending or going into post-secondary institutes have not gained a knowledge and understanding of financial management. Many students tend to rely on parents for financial needs and seek other ways to combat their problems.
What it does
The app we are trying to build caters to these students' needs, it tracks stats like tuition fees, residence fees, and other fees, and compiles this into an easy-to-read and accessible manner. The great part about this app is that it can be told which university or college the person is attending, and also take in which program the person is in order to get accurate and correct values.
How we built it
due to certain constraints and problems, my team and I were not able to make this application using IOS development tools, and other programming skills. However, we did have the idea and plan in which way we were to construct it. So in the end, we decided to make this program a project for us in the future that we can work on and publish to the public later on.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge we ran into was creating a visual application that was somewhat accurate. Another great problem was managing to work together in an online situation with different time zones.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The idea it self was a great accomplishment that we are very proud of, and it really speaks to us as incoming university students
What we learned
We learned that financial help is not readily available to younger audiences and that many younger students heavily rely on parental figures for support.
What's next for Sinance
The next step for Sinance is to make it a reality, we are determined to make this application accessible to the public, and people who need it. This was just the starting point of Sinance, the next steps are going to be even more accomplishing and great.
