Inspiration

Relinq is a personal CRM app designed to address the challenge of professionals struggling to maintain and nurture personal connections. Many professionals struggle to maintain and nurture their personal connections due to lack of time and attention, missing out on valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships, expand their network, and tap into career or personal opportunities.

What it does

It automatically tracks updates from your connections' LinkedIn profiles, generates personalized messages, and notifies you with timely, tailored outreach suggestions via Twilio.

How we built it

User Onboarding: The user navigates to connect.com and signs up using their phone number and password. Connection Import: The user adds connections to the app by inputting their LinkedIn profiles, email/#, and some additional information like tags or a raw text description like “know him from HopHacks”. Data Scraping: The backend service scrapes these LinkedIn profiles at [ INTERVAL ] to collect new updates and changes. After a user-set interval of time (3-6 months for example) a notification is sent to re-connect, regardless of update (especially since the LinkedIn field is optional). Personalized Insights: GPT-4 based algorithms analyze the scraped data to generate actionable insights and personalized messages tailored to each connection. Notification: The user receives timely notifications via Twilio with suggestions for outreach, along with the generated personalized message. User Action: The user can either directly use the suggested message for outreach or customize it further before sending it out via email or LinkedIn.

Challenges we ran into

Webscraping was difficult when working with LinkedIn to get career updates, but we were able to find some unique workarounds with containers and beautiful soup.

Also, none of us had front end experience but fortunately we could leverage the power of ChadGPT to help us out!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We spent almost 6 hours ideating and just trying to come up with a feasible solution to develop. We can't express how proud we are to have been able to come up with an interesting idea, and moreover, have the the opportunity to have a REAL impact on people's lives, while having fun along the way :)

What's next for Relinq

User testing, scaling, and validating some ideas on where we think ReLinq could go. We definitely want to polish the front end much more and scale our infrastructure if possible.
