Inspiration
With Quizlet switching to a subscription fee model to access all of its content, students need a reliable website/webapp to create, view, and share flashcards, which is where RedCard comes in. RedCard is a free web app that allows users to create, view, and access flashcards.
What it does
RedCard is a web app that enables users to create, view, and share flashcards. When users create flashcards, they earn points that can be used to view compiled quizzes of the top user made. Users can updoot flashcards they like, and flashcards with more updoots get recommended.
How we built it
A variety of programming languages, and modules like Docker, Flask, JS, Python, CSS, HTML, and Solid.Js were used in creating this application.
Challenges we ran into
Handling cookies over multiple domains, using git to sync up the work of all the team members
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This web app has great potential for further development and can be used as a substitute for multiple flashcard websites.
What we learned
We learned how to use Flask, sqlite3, docker, and JS
What's next for RedCard - Wet Laptop
Further development of the web app will enable more students to have access to a free, reliable flashcard web app.
