Inspiration
The current Covid-19 situation is getting out of hand and there's no good way to currently enforce quarantines. I thought Radar.io with its strong Location capabilities could be helpful.
What it does
The purpose of the application to enforce Quarantine Guidelines. For example, the city of New York has a mandatory 14 day quarantine, but they don’t have a good way to enforce their policy. They could leverage this application to monitor travelers and ensure that they are staying within their quarantine facilities and or places of residence.
The application heavily leverages Radar.io to track users and create a geofence that will ensure that users do not leave their place of residence.
How we built it
Refer to GITHUB for a great Architecture DIagram: https://github.com/Rayjk123/QuarantineApplicationHackathon
Challenges we ran into
All members were new to using Android and Android Studio. Working with new APIs and having to build out an infrastructure from scratch.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making this functional and truly work. Geofence capabilities, webhooks, lambdas, etc. The application is super scalable due to running based off of a serverless technology stack.
What we learned
Learned how to use Android Studio Creating a front end in Android Studio Leveraging Serverless AWS technologies
What's next for Quarantine Application
Not much unless a government entity wanted to leverage it haha. It's fully built out and funcitional :D
