This is Proteosurf - Windsurf for biology

1,600 people die of cancer every day. Until recently we couldn’t even see the most common cancer driver, KRAS, let alone drug it. A chemical biologist at UCSF, where I work, finally cracked the problem by staring at atomic structures until a hidden pocket revealed itself in the inactive, GDP-bound form.

I was a high-school dropout turned founding engineer who wanted to interrogate proteins the way a mechanic dissects an engine. Now I want to build the Windsurf for biologists so every chemical biologist can feel that same power - and use cutting edge computational models like AlphaFold through MCP.

If we can hand-craft small molecules against KRAS by looking, imagine what happens when anybody (even a high schooler) can chat with an MCP that drives a full molecular graphics suite, explores pockets, and generate synthesis-ready candidates.

What it does

  • Vibe-Code Proteins turns a classroom Chromebook into a cinematic structural-biology workstation:
  • Conversational control — Students type or speak natural-language prompts ("Show me a glycoprotein binding Siglec-7; highlight every sialic-acid contact").
  • Live ChimeraX rendering — A lightweight MCP server pushes the commands straight into UCSF ChimeraX and streams high-fps WebGL frames back.
  • One-click analyses — Mutate residues, calculate binding energies, scan AlphaFold models, or dock libraries from ammachi, our thin Python wrapper.

Vision: every wet lab biologist using the most advanced AI models for drug discovery with MCP

I am going for the most YC company prize, too
