Inspiration
The inspiration for Play Rush came from the desire to make location discovery engaging and interactive. Traditional maps are functional, but they often lack the excitement and storytelling that can captivate users. I wanted to create something that would transform the way people explore real-world locations, making it a fun, educational, and gamified experience. The idea of solving riddles, clues, puzzles, questions and uncovering destinations on a photorealistic 3D map felt like the perfect way to combine adventure with technology.
What it does
Play Rush is an interactive, gamified web application that redefines location discovery using Google Maps Platform's Photorealistic 3D Maps. It combines the thrill of solving riddles, puzzles, clues with immersive map-based exploration, making navigation engaging and fun. It has a story by which we proceed at the last location.

Challenges we ran into
Making interaction of user on 3D Map. Use solvable riddles, puzzles, questions, clues. Learn 3D map api which was new to me. Creating exciting stories
What we learned
Building Play Rush was an incredible learning experience. Google Maps Platform: I got knowledge of the Photorealistic 3D Maps in the Maps JavaScript API, particularly how to use camera animations , polylines, custom markers, polygons to enhance the user experience. Gamification Concepts: I learned how to integrate exciting things to keep user engaged like camera animations, giving riddles, puzzles etc to solve and then open the new location. User Experience Design: I explored ways to make navigation intuitive and visually appealing, ensuring the game was accessible to players of all skill levels.
What's next for Play Rush
There are many things which we can incorporate in play rush. AI Generated riddles - We can use api's like Open AI or AWS bedrock to generate new riddles, puzzles, questions every time. A Generated place info - We can give place information whenever user click on particular place which will be AI generated 3D Models - Use of 3D models to make map looks visually appealing.
