Inspiration

DeFi today is fragmented and exhausting.

Users have to manually hunt for staking, lending, or liquidity opportunities — usually without clear data on real yields, fees, or risks.

Ocean Fin was born to solve exactly that: an autonomous, data-aware yield engine that effortlessly navigates Polkadot’s DeFi ecosystem for you.

Challenges we faced

Implementing cross-chain communication was challenging due to our limited experience with Polkadot’s XCM and architecture.

Current Work

Despite these challenges, we have successfully implemented Loop strategies for GDOT & VDOT on Hydration and establishing a foundation for automated yield optimizations.

What’s Next for Ocean Fin

  • Expand DeFi protocol integrations on Asset Hub, Bifrost, and Moonbeam.
  • Implement withdraw strategies and execution via Agent Wallet (x402 Protocol).
  • Enable full cross-chain XCM operations for seamless asset transfers.
  • Develop and deploy additional yield strategies to maximize returns.
  • Build metrics and monitoring tools for better performance tracking.
  • Explore grant applications to support further development and growth.

How to Use (gDOT Looping Strategy Example)

Prerequisites

  • Polkadot-compatible wallet (e.g., Talisman, SubWallet, Polkadot.js)
  • Some DOT on Hydration
  • How to Transfer Hydration (H2O) on Polkadot Testnet
  • Tap the Send button (paper plane icon).
  • Select DOT as the token.
  • Choose Hydration as the asset to send.
  • Enter or paste the recipient address.
  • Input the amount.
  • Tap the Transfer button to confirm.

  1. Go to https://oceanfin.net and connect your wallet
    Connect Wallet & Choose Strategy

  2. Select the strategy → choose gDOT Looping

  3. If it's your first time, bind your account (skip if already done)

  4. Enter the amount you want to deploy
    Amount + Simulate

  5. Click "Simulate Strategy" → review the exact steps that will be executed

  6. Click "Run / Execute Strategy"

  7. Click "Start Execution" to run all steps automatically

  8. Sign/Approve each transaction in your wallet as prompted

  9. Done! Strategy executed successfully
