Inspiration
- The developers' urge to use APIs.
- The developers striving for finding various APIs all over the web.
- Developers getting linked to the unwanted APIs and keep hunting for the same.
What it does
- Navigator is the project 'Build by the developers for the developers'.
- It helps all the developers to find their required APIs under one website.
- The brief in the website also provides the user to know about the use and various varients for the web-App.
How we built it
- We first started designing and edited the front end.
- We then used CSS to construct and design background.
- Then we applied HTML to insert, design and edit the content.
- For making the web-app responsive, we used JavaScript.
- To collaborate on real-time, we used repl.it and finally started testing and improving our project considering the users' need, comfort of use and expected demand.
Challenges we ran into
- The concept 'API' itself was very new for us.
- Also we were beginners at Kubernetes.
- We had a hard time installing the software required for the project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- This is the projects mainly built for the developer community.
- Through this hackathon, we got to learn alot about our skills and setbacks as well.
- It was a really great experience to work in a team(we were far apart from each other but still got connected only due to such a wonderful event).
- This experience will surely help us in over future hackathons and events conducted by any open source community.
- It was a real 'Learning by doing' experience.
What we learned
We learned co-ordinating and working in a team. We also learned what 'APIs' actually are and how they are used. Working in a team, everyone got to learn new and interesting skills from each other. We understood the value of the time management.
What's next for NAVITOR
As we were not very successful in containerising the content and using docker, We plan to work on the same and improvise our project to make it more effective.
