Inspiration
We realized that the biggest factor affecting women in asset management was confidence, and confidence grows through community and identity, not spreadsheets.
That’s where the idea for Invvest began: What if investing felt more like joining a supportive group than facing a financial test alone?
What it does
Invvest is a web app that transforms investing from intimidating and confusing into something personal, social, and emotionally intuitive.
It does this through:
A Financial Personality Test ("Investment Persona") - A 20-question personality assessment that profiles users across four investing dimensions:
- Short-term ↔ Long-term
- High-risk ↔ Low-risk
- Clarity ↔ Complexity
- Consistent ↔ Lump Sum
Users receive a 4-letter financial identity that gives them language to understand their investing style.
Investment Recommendations Based on Personality
Funds are tagged with personality traits such as “Low-Risk · Long-Term” or “Clarity · Consistent Yield,” making investing intuitive and aligned with personal behavior.
Community Feed
Users can:
- Share their investment decisions
- See what peers with similar personalities are investing in
- Like & comment to learn together This normalizes investing, builds confidence, and creates social reinforcement.
Advisor Matching
Financial advisors also take the personality test. Users get matched based on:
- Communication style
- Investment philosophy
- Behavioral compatibility This reduces intimidation and makes advisors feel like partners rather than authority figures.
How we built it
Frontend: React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
Backend: Python
Integrating: Gemini API, Morning Star Ranking API
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Creating the first-ever Investment Persona tailored to mass-market women.
- Building a platform that transforms investing from a solo activity into a community experience.
What we learned
- Creating proper matching criteria and algorithm
- Personalization creates ownership
- How to design for people who "don't know where to start"
Challenges we ran into
- Designing a personality test that feels intuitive and non-financial, but still yields meaningful financial recommendations
What's next for Invvest
