Inspiration
As young students trying to get their first internship, we understand the struggles for our peers to not only get interviews, but to successfully pass them. Our project will therefore give an opportunity of practicing for common interview questions and give personalized feedback to users.
What it does
Users can select between different categories of interviews such as technical, behavioral and marketing. Users are then moved to a page where they receive questions and must answer the questions live on video. Their perceived mood and quality of answers are evaluated to give personalized feedback once the mock interview is over.
How we built it
The front-end used mainly React, Javascript, Bootstrap and Material UI. Our backend used Python, React, Flask and libraries such as OpenCV for mood tracking.
Challenges we ran into
Connecting the back-end and front-end for the recorded interview video was our biggest issue to completing the project. After reading through documentation and looking at forum posts, we were able to overcome the challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our smooth teamwork dynamic and our ability to continue despite the learning curves present.
What we learned
We improved our ability to code in React and our knowledge in OpenCV. We also improved our communication skills to complete the task within the given time.
What's next for MockTerview
MockTerview will receive more updates to add new features such as more interview questions, new categories such as system design interviews
