Inspiration

Doing tasks with no time constraints leads to procrastination. That often causes lack of sleep, exercise, and socializing time, which can affect both physical and mental well-being. That is why it is important to set a limit on how much time you spend on each task, and strictly follow it.

What it does

Minutemon is a time-budgeting app designed to help students live healthier lives. It allows users to set daily study goals, allocate time for tasks, and manage their time effectively with the Pomodoro technique. It also keeps students motivated by its unique point and pet-raising system.

With these features, students will be able to develop good daily habits, achieving both their physical and mental well-being alongside academic success.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

Since some of us are not familiar with React, it was challenging to make sure we are on the same page.
Especially for the beginning of the coding process, Git conflict happened frequently, which confused us.

I worked on task cards, create task page, and the pop-up window to delete the task. This is my first time to use React, but I could quickly pick up the skills and reflect to the project.

Misuzu Taniguchi
I worked on the multi page experience with React Router and managed app states using React Context. I had a little previous experience with React but this is the first application I've made. It was very fun.

Jasper Wang
I mainly worked on Pomodoro Timer feature. It was my first experience using React, which posed a significant challenge for me. However, I was able to learn a lot and feel a sense of accomplishment.

As a graphic and UX/UI designer, I developed the website design and visual assets. When crafting the wireframe, I incorporated a timer and an indicator to facilitate intuitive app usage and enhance the user experience. Additionally, I designed characters and logos to infuse the app with a distinctive identity.
