Inspiration

We wanted to create a platform where anyone could easily turn their meme ideas into reality and connect with a community that loves humor and creativity. Before our plan was just to create an AI meme generation platform , but later we thought that we should add some meme examples for users' inspiration.

What it does

Memativ is an AI-powered meme creation and community platform. Users can generate meme templates, add captions with AI suggestions, customize their memes, and share them to a social feed. The platform also supports text posts and interactive features like reactions, comments, and following creators.

How we built it

We combined AI image generation and captioning with a user-friendly editor and integrated social features such as scroll mode, reactions, and comments. The platform was designed to make meme creation and sharing seamless and fun.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges in optimizing AI image generation speed, ensuring a smooth user experience in scroll mode, and building real-time social interactions. Before implementing social features fully, we ran out of tokens (Later it became possible after bolt gave us 20M tokens extra). Also had some trouble to sync react and comment counts in both formats (Feed/Scroll).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of building a fully functional meme platform with AI-powered tools, interactive social features, and a growing template pool—all within a short development cycle. We have chosen right prompts for the project.

What we learned

We learned how to blend AI with social features to enhance creativity, and how important user experience is when building community-driven platforms. Using API and AI in different scenarios.

What's next for Memativ

Next, we plan to expand the template library, improve AI captioning, add more customization options, and introduce trending challenges to boost community engagement. But our primary goal will be to make AI image generation more faster.
