Inspiration:
We were inspired to create mathworkit by our own experiences as students and the challenges we faced creating math notes on a computer. We noticed that students often struggle to find reliable math note taking softwares which is why most people take notes on paper.
What it does
The website is an latex editor that supports all sort of math functions and equations which would make it more presentable than sketching it on a drawing.
How we built it
We used React, Next.js, TailwindCSS, and a large amount of small libraries. We used KaTeX to render the Latex math blocks.
Challenges we ran into
We only started hacking at 1:00 on Saturday. We switched rich text editors approximately 5 times. We only really started making progress on the last day, 4 hours before the deadline.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to present this project on-time and to create a unique project that can help sudents for years to come.
What we learned
We learned that time is required to create good project and we will be trying to make the most of our time. We also learned to plan ahead.
What's next for mathworkit
We are planning on to make a landing page and possibly a way to work with others online. By the year 2069, we will see the added changes of a mathworkit ai that comments on your math skills and life skills overall. This feature greatly improves your emotional damage so you can concentrate on your failure management studies aka more studying.
