Inspiration

Sustainable investing is a foreign term for many, and that includes those who have already been investing. I wanted to create something that answered BlackRock's challenge while educating those who are already investors.

What it does

lightswitch lets the investor see why sustainable investing is a viable option in terms of the risk factors they may face while also aiming to educate them about investing terms (especially helpful for those who are newer to investing).

How we built it

lightswitch is built using Vite as the build engine with React for the front-end Single Page Application and GCP - Firebase Cloud Functions for the backend (which was really just used for fetching the ticker data).

Challenges we ran into

I think the most time consuming part of building lightswitch was trying to make the application responsive. With the amount of information I wanted to present, it was hard to get it to look pretty.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud that I was able to build this solo and get the information across.

What's next for lightswitch

If I really wanted to add some more flourish to lightswitch, I would add some more graphs and visuals (but this is an issue due to how Vite works and is why graphs are not present currently).
