Inspiration
Petr describes how he came up with the original idea:
"The idea came out of my personal struggle. I have been working as business development specialist for the last 5 years. Part of my job is to find qualified leads who might be interested in buying our product or services. This process takes a lot of time, quite boring and involves a lot of manual work. We thought we could use the power of Gemini to make this process much easier, faster and more fun. We want to help people like me to focus on what they do best - selling - and leave the boring stuff to Leadseeker"
What it does
LeadSeeker is a web app that generates B2B leads using Google's Gemini. The people section is generated using fictional data by Gemini for demo purposes (real details can't be generated for privacy reasons).
How we built it
- The tech stack is Next.js (web framework), PostgreSQL (database) and GCP (hosting).
Challenges we ran into
- The personal details for this demo version must be fabricated, as Gemini doesn't allow the real details of people to be generated. Real data is required for commercial purposes.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- The web app was put together quite quickly, and offers quite a lot of functionality.
What we learned
- Technically, how to use Gemini with Next.js (using the official NPM).
- The limitations of Gemini's JSON mode, and how to improve on it (some verification and clean-up is required).
What's next for Leadseeker
- The technical founder intends to continue development of LeadSeeker into a business.
