🚀 Inspiration

Snapchat is built around quick interactions, so I wanted to create a game that feels instantly playable with zero learning curve. I was inspired by classic endless runner games and the idea of turning a simple “tap” mechanic into a fast, competitive experience that anyone can jump into for a few seconds and replay.

🛠 How I Built It

I built Jump Rush using Lens Studio by starting from a jump-and-run game template and redesigning it to focus on speed, timing, and replayability. I customized the gameplay flow, UI, and visuals, and integrated a timer-based scoring system and Leaderboard component to encourage competition. The game is optimized for quick sessions and smooth performance on mobile.

📚 What I Learned

Through this project, I learned how to effectively use Lens Studio’s game components, especially timers, leaderboards, and UI interactions. I also learned the importance of keeping gameplay simple and polished—small improvements in responsiveness, feedback, and clarity make a big difference in how fun a game feels.

⚠️ Challenges I Faced

One of the main challenges was balancing difficulty so the game feels challenging but not frustrating. I also had to ensure the game ran smoothly across devices while keeping the mechanics simple. Iterative testing and refining the jump timing and obstacle spacing helped me overcome these challenges.
