How we built it
InclusiGen is an innovative website developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and Node.js. The process began by gathering sample employee data from a firm, which was used to create the front-end UI/UX design of the platform. To ensure secure authentication, Auth0 was seamlessly integrated, streamlining the authentication process. Leveraging MongoDB, the collected data formed the basis of an employee database, enabling graphical analysis through dynamic graphs. Moreover, insights were generated using advanced AI APIs, providing valuable and data-driven perspectives on workplace inclusivity. InclusiGen empowers organizations to make informed decisions, foster diversity, and create inclusive environments that drive success and societal progress.
Challenges we ran into
Developing the InclusiGen website posed various challenges that demanded perseverance, adaptability, and learning. Integrating Auth0 for authentication purposes required a deep understanding of its documentation and API, particularly for team members unfamiliar with it. Working with MongoDB as the database presented challenges in designing the schema, setting up the database, and implementing efficient data retrieval and manipulation. Incorporating data analysis and visualization using Chart.js and Plotly.js involved a learning curve, necessitating exploration of APIs, chart types, and customization options. Effective time management was crucial to meet project deadlines, balancing workloads, coordinating tasks, and fostering collaboration. Maintaining a clean and organized Git history was prioritized, emphasizing descriptive commit messages, proper branching and merging, and logical documentation. Despite these challenges, our team persevered, learned new technologies, and adapted to deliver a successful InclusiGen website. We remain committed to providing an impactful platform that fosters inclusivity and empowers organizations to cultivate diverse and inclusive work environments.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We take great pride in the accomplishments we have achieved while developing InclusiGen. One of our significant accomplishments was successfully implementing Auth0 for authentication, despite facing various challenges. It was our first experience with Auth0, and overcoming the complexities of authentication and ensuring secure access to the platform was a major achievement.
Another notable accomplishment was integrating Chart.js and Plotly.js for data visualization. Despite being new to these libraries, we were able to effectively implement them to create dynamic and interactive graphs that provided valuable insights to our users. It was gratifying to leverage JavaScript for real-time data analysis and visualization.
Fetching data from MongoDB and seamlessly integrating it into our website was another milestone we are proud of. We designed an efficient database schema, retrieved data, and incorporated it into our analysis and visualizations, allowing users to access up-to-date information. These accomplishments demonstrate our team's ability to overcome challenges, learn new technologies, and implement them effectively. The successful implementation of Auth0, Chart.js, Plotly.js, and real-time data analysis in JavaScript showcases our dedication and technical expertise. Through InclusiGen, we have created a powerful platform that can drive positive change by promoting inclusivity and diversity in the workplace.
