Inspiration

We saw the Hackathon bot not work in the server and we tried to make our own, both to fix the problem, and see how hard it is to make one. We also use Discord a lot in our everyday lives. In the servers of our friends, there are always Pancake Bot, MEE6 and Dank Memer. The fact the we use them so much also helped inspire us to make our project a Discord bot.

What it does

Allows you to kick, ban, create teams, moderate teams, leave teams, kick members from teams, and creates voice and text channels.

How I built it

We used Atom and Visual Studios to work together live. We also used this website: https://discordpy.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ext/commands/commands.html

Challenges I ran into

We switched from Visual Studios to Atom midway because of some glitches we were experiencing. I also wished that we had more time as we were all learning as we went along. If we had another few hours, that would've made a big difference. All challenges and problems aside, it was fun and that's all that we were looking to have. Additionally, we have never been to any Hackathons before, this was our first one and we didn't know what to expect.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Some of us didn't know much about how Discord bots are made so we learned a lot. We worked really hard and made each minute of Saturday count. It was also a fun learning process! Never did I feel like I was being burdened with work.

What I learned

I learned the basics of Discord bot making.

What's next for HackPH Rewrite

We would like to continue adding more functions to our bot in the future. Some that we had in mind are leveling systems, muting members, and maybe a small mini-game. We attempted leveling in our code but we would like to continue perfecting it.
