NYC's Congestion Zone proposal inspired us to see how, using traffic data, we can discover potential congestion zones in other cities. To avoid these congestion zones means an effort to reduce pollution in the area due to the amount of standing cars in the area. We want to create an incentive system for users, so that when they pledge and succeed to avoid a congestion zone by car, they can be rewarded with visuals, tokens, or even a share of ad revenue. Expansions of this project most definitely include a mobile app.
The Google Cloud Platform is used for the Google Maps JavaScript API. On the map, markers and shapes are used.
The IBM Cloud is used for hosting the site, inside a bucket in Cloud Object Storage (COS).
