Inspiration
Based off the devastating wildfires in LA, we wanted to build a device that could analyse wildfire risk factors and predict the chance of a wildfire happen
What it do
It collects sensor data of temp, humidity, and wind speed to assess the likeliness of a wildfire occurring.
How we built it
used esp32, pandas, various sensors, and thingspeak server to generate interactive web data display
Challenges we ran into
Some sensors were unable to be used, model had limited datasets, setting up flask and webpage was difficult.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Sensors provide live & accurate data that can be transmitted through an API, and sent to a webpage
What we learned
We learned how to merge different programming languages and physical hardware into a single unified functioning product that accomplished most of our goals.
What's next for fireguard
Adding further sensors, improving long distance transmission, and improved datasets would further increase the usability of the product.
