Inspiration

Social media platforms like Instagram, where people use DMs to chat about their emotions but often get distracted and never receive proper feedback on their emotions!

What it does

It establishes a secure connection between two users, allowing the user to concentrate on just one connection while also given feedback on their emotions and steps to take to resolve them both in the short term and in the long term. It also offers an emotion analysis feature and shows the users what emotions and how much percent they are involved in the user's messages! Also allows users to upload a compressed image.

How we built it

Using Python, JS, HTML, and CSS!

Challenges we ran into

Initially, we had the idea of creating an offline disaster relief chat platform, where users could send messages locally offline. However, after fully coding the C++ for this, we realized that we needed hardware tools that we didn't have. We had to scrap that idea and completely rebrand, running into some more challenges with differences between the Linux and Windows' operating systems hindering collaboration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are so proud that we were able to overcome the challenges we underwent and come out with a successful product! We were able to integrate tfidf vectorization and classify the users' emotions. We also successfully were able to build an image compressor and set up a messaging board!

What we learned

We are all first time hackathon competitors, so we learned how to approach and go about a hackathon and learned to not overcomplicate the product. We learned to start with an MVP, and go from there. We also learned some frontend skills and more C++ skills such as coding a network and ui design.

What's next for Feelink

We want to make it more interactive and possibly turn it into a game! We would also love to add an AI aspect to make it more tailored to the user.
