Inspiration

When I started prepping for the TEF Canada exam, most resources felt lifeless and disconnected and didn’t reflect the actual test. I kept thinking, Why isn’t there something that just feels like the real exam? After extensive research I found out that there is no such product out there. So we built it.

What It Does

Over a single weekend using bolt.new, we prototyped a TEF Canada prep platform that actually feels like the real thing. It’s a full-scope practice hub powered by AI, covering reading, listening, writing, and speaking—plus real-time feedback and progress tracking that actually helps.

• Reading & Listening: Realistic practice in the style and timing of the official exam
  
• Writing & Speaking: Instantly evaluated by AI, mapped to CLB levels
  
• Progress Dashboard: See what’s working, fix what’s not, and stay motivated with visual milestones

How We Built It

• Bolt-Powered Sprint: We used bolt.new to move fast frontend, backend, and AI evaluation all spun up in one platform
  
• Exam Reverse Engineering: We mapped out the TEF structure by breaking down every section type and scoring rubric
  
• AI Scoring: LLM handles writing and speaking tasks by evaluating clarity and structure.

Challenges We Hit

• Authenticity Without Infringement: We recreated the TEF vibe without stepping on any official content toes
  
• Keeping It Engaging: TEF prep can be dry, so we layered in fun UI and timed challenges to keep things fresh

What’s Next

• Feature to buy credits: People can buy credits.
  
• Collaborations: Collaborate with TEF coaching centers to bulk purchase credits at lower cost and distribute them to their students.
• Beyond TEF: Expand into DELF, DALF, TCF, IELTS, TOEFL, etc.
• Work Full Time: Work full time on this project and scale it as we get users and collaborations.
