Inspiration

The inspiration behind Event Ease was to create a tool that can help people plan events more efficiently. We noticed that organizing an event can be a stressful and time-consuming process, especially for those who have no experience with event planning. Our goal was to make it easier for anyone to plan an event without having to go through the hassle of searching for different vendors and suppliers.

What it does

Event Ease is a web application that allows users to plan an event by providing a few key details. Users can enter their budget, the number of guests/participants, the location, and the type of event they are planning. The application then generates a detailed plan that includes suggestions for vendors, suppliers, and other resources needed to make the event a success.

How we built it

Event Ease was built using the Next.js framework for the frontend and Tailwind CSS for styling.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we faced was designing a user-friendly interface that was easy to use but also had all the necessary features. We also had to figure out the best way to calculate and generate a customized event plan based on user input. Additionally, setting up the backend and database was a challenge, but we were able to overcome these obstacles through research and collaboration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a tool that makes event planning more accessible to everyone, regardless of their experience level or budget. We were also able to create a visually appealing and user-friendly interface that we believe makes the app enjoyable to use.

What we learned

Throughout the development process, we learned a lot about using React hooks for state management and handling form input. We also gained experience working with a variety of web development tools and technologies, including Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and MongoDB.

What's next for Event Ease

In the future, we plan to add more features and functionality to Event Ease. This includes the ability to save and share event plans, as well as integrating with external APIs to provide additional resources and tools for event planning. We also hope to continue to improve the user experience and make the app even more intuitive and easy to use.
