Inspiration
I am a team manager of Esports at UCF (EUCF) and decided to help make a website for the club. I asked the president about it and he said he would love it. We also added a AI chatbot using Google Gemini to be on the AI theme and gave it a lot of information about EUCF so it can tell people about the club.
What it does
Gives info about the club and contact info. You can also talk to Knighto, the mascot of EUCF to learn more about the club.
How we built it
We built the website in the Next.js Framework primarily using typescript and CSS and used Gemini API to make the chatbot.
Challenges we ran into
A main challenge we had was getting the Gemini API key to work. We also had trouble merging and committing on Github but we figure it out in the end.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Implementing the Google Gemini API and automatic scrolling when a button is clicked.
What we learned
We learned how to implement AI into our websites and how to influence the AI responses by adding information to it.
