What it does

EduFocus is a website/app/algorithm-based platform that aims to improve students' engagement and concentration during online lectures. Using realtime questioning, teachers can ask all the students in their class specfic questions after discussing certain topics in order to assess how well the class understood some material. Using python algorithms and OpenCV, EduFocus can also analyze the attentiveness of a student from their webcam.

How I built it

Website- html, css, js Android App- Java, XML Attentiveness Algorithms- Python Database- Firebase

Challenges I ran into

Tracking facial features with OpenCV and surrounding them with point-based shapes

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm very proud of being able to develop both tools by myself within the time limit. I originally only thought Id be able to develop one of the tools, but the OpenCV code didn't have many errors so I finished it earlier than I had planned.

What I learned

OpenCV, dlib, imutils

What's next for EduFocus

Scaling, implementing a freemium revenue system, more reliable eye-tracking
