Inspiration

The idea for EconoWise came from seeing my sister's struggles with managing finances and realizing how little financial education is accessible to many people. Whether it’s budgeting for monthly expenses, saving for big life goals, or just understanding where money is going, I noticed a huge gap. I wanted to create a solution that makes personal finance easy, engaging, and approachable for everyone, no matter their experience level.

What it does

EconoWise is an all-in-one platform that helps people take control of their finances. It allows users to track their savings, set financial goals, take fun budgeting challenges, learn key financial concepts, and visualize their spending. The aim is to turn financial literacy into a game, making it interactive, simple, and practical.

How we built it

I built EconoWise using Figma to create an intuitive, user-friendly interface with a focus on clean design and easy navigation. I mapped out the features in a way that would feel natural and rewarding for users – from setting up a savings goal to tracking progress and engaging in budget challenges. Each feature was carefully designed with the goal of helping users understand, track, and manage their finances effortlessly.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was ensuring the platform was not only functional but also engaging. I wanted users to feel motivated to interact with the platform every day. Balancing educational content with user experience without overwhelming them was tricky, but it was a fun challenge to make it simple yet impactful.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m incredibly proud of how we made learning about personal finance fun and interactive. The gamified challenges and learning modules are designed to keep users motivated and empowered. Seeing how each feature came together to create a cohesive experience has been the most rewarding part of this project.

What we learned

I learned how important it is to design with empathy and understand users’ needs. The process of turning complex financial concepts into digestible lessons helped me realize how impactful simplicity can be. I also gained a lot of experience in Figma, from prototyping to building user flows that are both engaging and educational.

What's next for ECONOWISE

The future of EconoWise is all about growth. I envision adding more advanced features, like personalized finance tips based on user data and expanding the learning modules to cover even more topics. We plan to make it a fully interactive platform with real-time feedback, and eventually launch it for people to use in their daily lives.
