Our inspiration came from wanting to align with the idea of making Bitcoin accessible and promote this borderless system. My team became excited when learning about the prompt, to make Bitcoin relatable and usable for the everyday person, and used it to challenge our own possible limiting beliefs in Bitcoin adoption.
We built a digital wallet, LearnWallet, for mobile that allows users to send and receive bitcoin. LearnWallet is founded on transparency & trust, embedded with education throughout the platform so users stay informed and does not have to question where they can go next.
LearnWallet makes Bitcoin accessible to anyone with a smart phone. It onboards the user with an experience that encourages them to get familiar with what to expect on the app, helping them form a solid mental model. We researched the needs of customers who are unaware of Bitcoin and those that are aware and have some idea. We understood that the everyday person might have different experiences and thoughts about Bitcoin, and we want to encourage the everyday user to learn how to send and receive Bitcoin, regardless of their perspective. We found that what a user experiences early on affects their expectations moving forward towards a product. Therefore we decided to target the user in the beginning stages of their adoption journey.
A challenge was constantly reevaluating our priorities to having to focus on function first, which can be difficult as our main objective is to keep the solution user friendly, and that includes seamless UI.
We are proud that we decided to take the challenge of creating our own wallet over improving an existing one! Two features to highlight are the live Bitcoin price & generating random addresses.
We learned that there are different types of bitcoin address when using testing the wallet.
