Inspiration
Working as a student in virtual machines provided by NYU, we are provided with restricted environment, and therefore creating docker admin will have isolated root access to sandboxed environments looked like a win-win solution both for administrators and the users.
How it works
It will allow shipping of an isolated environment on a multi user server, as per need. Students can use the stateful sessions, and it also encourages NYU as a whole as an open source project.
Challenges I ran into
Being new to these, it was difficult at start to get used to it.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We tried to built out an solution to that enables all this. We made an attempt to build a management console that makes Dockers more usable.
What I learned
Learn new things, and implement them, its fun!
What's next for Docker-admin
A full fledged web management console, and optimizations of algorithms and better state manangement.
