Introducing: Delulu Core by the Debugging Devas!
Inspiration
For this project, we were inspired by chatbots with unique, fun, and silly characters! We wanted Delulu Core to be a silly, lighthearted Gen Z translator with an option to chat.
What it does
Our Gen Z chatbot has two modes: Chat Mode and Translation Mode. In the Chat Mode, you can chat with Delilah, who speaks exclusively in slang. You can also ask her to translate anything you want into Gen Z speak because there's no one in the world who can do it better than her!
How we built it
We relied on a mix of AI and human creativity to bring Delulu Core to life. The project uses a ChatGPT API in order to bring Delilah to life, tuned to radiate the energy of a chaotic, chronically online girl.
Our prompt strategy included:
- High temperature for chaotic responses
- Slang injection
- Meme tone conditioning
The art for the website was custom-painted to highlight the silly nature of the whole idea. With bright colored attire and fun poses, Delilah does not shy away from being the star of the show!
Challenges we ran into
The time limit was exciting, but also challenging. Making an entire project in 24 hours with a team of three is tough when two of you have never done anything like this before. Getting the API key and making it accessible to other users was also a challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite the tight time limit, we managed to make a fun little website full of personality and style. The combination of AI and human creativity really allowed our project to shine!
What we learned
We have learned a lot about connecting the back end with the front end to create a complete and working project. We also learned a lot about the use of API keys.
What's next for Delulu Core
Delilah will be available to chat with for 7 days, after which she will retire to being a regular Gen Z girl somewhere inaccessible to the world.
