Inspiration
I’ve always found it hard to keep track of time and stay on top of my tasks. Most reminder apps feel rigid, and very few are designed around how my attention actually works. This hackathon was the perfect opportunity to build a reminder app that supports not only Sam’s needs, but mine too.
What it does
Cue:it is an AI-powered reminder app that helps you create meaningful reminders, organize them with tags, and schedule them flexibly. It also includes Focus Timers to help you stay locked in and finish tasks.
How I built it
I built most of my app myself , as a seasoned app developer , I found it easier to be in charge of architecting the solution while relying ChatGPT, other coding tools to solve hurdles to bring my product to life in the short window span of this hackathon
Challenges I ran into
The main challenge of creating a cross-platform syncable app system was a far-fetched for my skillset, however I do believe I have laid good foundations from which I can easily build android version of the app.
Additionally , I found it hard to create custom reminders with very custom schedules, at the moment ,I am only supporting periodic schedules (like every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday every week).
Another challenge was , what to scope in & out, I have a lot of ideas for this project and this was overwhelming at first. Curating , finding market fit and designing were the three pillars to my struggle in planning out a stress-free Shipyard
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am proud that in a short time:
I have build an app with nice UI while not sacrificing in functionality
Built an app with good foundations for me from which I can build a additional features
Learning new technologies (including RevenueCat).
Dabbled in designing and the product didn't turn out half as bad.
What I learned
I learnt the importance of well structured planning and how to market your product. Alongside , I also got to gather a lot of technical knowledge, design logic and improving my skills in building paywalls
What's next for Cue:it
As mentioned earlier, I don't see this app as a sole hackathon submission, I have some many ideas that I would like to explore and have already finalized what will be the next couple of features I will be working on. You can see them in the "Product Roadmap" in the Settings tab of this app.
In Summary these are the upcoming features:
- Habits
- Widgets
- iCloud Sync
- iPad & Watch
these are few of the ideas that I want to implement/work on right after the project
