Inspiration

I built CollabTabs because teams still share links like it’s the early internet. The browser never became collaborative, and that felt like a gap worth solving. As a solo builder, I wanted to push myself into something bigger than my comfort zone.

What it does

CollabTabs syncs tab groups in real time so teams can work in one shared browser space. Every tab update reflects instantly for everyone. It makes research and teamwork feel effortless.

How I built it

I built the entire project solo using Cursor, AI agents, and modern realtime tools like Supabase. This was my first time combining a browser extension with a full backend sync engine. AI accelerated everything—from architecture to debugging—and made the solo journey possible.

Challenges we ran into

Going solo meant solving every problem myself, from permissions to realtime race conditions and earning great experiences along with equity. Manifest V3 and browser constraints forced many redesigns. Keeping sync under 200ms while maintaining stability was a major technical challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Turning an idea into a polished MVP in such a short time feels unreal. I proved I can build ambitious products solo with the right tools.

What we learned

Building alone is intense but incredibly rewarding. AI tools don’t replace creativity—they amplify it. The browser ecosystem is deeper and more powerful than I expected.

What's next for CollabTaps

AI tab clustering, summaries, and smarter collaboration features. Team dashboards, enterprise controls, and multi-browser expansion. Scaling CollabTabs into the first true “multiplayer browser layer.
