Inspiration
My inspiration is that I wanted to learn coding while playing games and thought how I could implement it in my own way.
What it does
In this game, you are a robot and is trying to survive like a vampire survivor game. Every time you get hit, you will break one of your functions and will be restricted from using that move until the code is fixed. The way you fix is by going around the map and finding toolkits scattered around the map. When you get one of those, you will be prompted to fix one of your broken functions where if you select one, you will need to code out the function.
How we built it
I built it using simple node.js with the help of phaser.js framework.
Challenges we ran into
New framework, was not very familiar with it. Had some bugs
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I managed to get all the basics down including my Unique Selling Point which was that I was able to check the code that the user has uploaded by running test cases and checking with AI
What we learned
I learned a new framework called phaser and how to use it to create games. I also realized that I probably should have competed with a partner.
What's next for Code-Survivor
In the future, I plan to integrate a more advance AI for code checking and more malfunctions to include as part of the game.
Built With
- javascript
- phaser.js
- pixilart
